France

I had another great day . Today we went to a museum on deportation and to the concentration camp. We had fun but it was very sad. We learned about the differences between Germany and France and about the holocaust, World War 2, Nazi Germany, Hitler and the cold war. I think it was more of a learning experiance than it was fun. But i liked it. Tomarrow the students have a half day and we get to play Table Tennis, volley ball, and rock wall climbing! I sighned up for table tennis because thats what i am good at. After school we are going to go shopping. I have not spent any of my money yet and i cant wait!!

Today we got to go on a boat tour of Strasbourg, a tour of St Ettiene, and a tour of the Cathedral. I really enjoyed the experiance! Strasbourg reminds me alot of Venus, Italy because everywhere you go you are near the river. The tour of the school was good they have way better food than us and a full gymnasium wuth gymnastic equiptment. It was great I even got to go to a class with Camille. It was Chinese class so all i hered whliue i was there was french and chinese but i was still cool even though i did not understand a single word! The tour of Strasbourg and the Cathedral where amazing there are little alley ways and building made entirely of stone and wood from hundereds of years ago.The cthedral was even mor'e magnificent i reminded me alot of Notre Dame. I can not wait for tomarrow when we get to go to a concentration camp. its going to be so much fun!!

Okay last night i had a great time Camille , her family and i went out to a resterant to eat. We met some freinds of the family who are from australia. They could translate anything. I really enjoyed it and it was the first time that we had a real conversation (the family and i). We ate tart flombe (i probally spelled that wrong). It even seemed like the dads confedence was building up when it came to his english.I really had a AMAZON (fun in french) time. When we got home i gave the family there gift. they really liked it. Just to let you know it was a Carolina Beach book, Sea Board to Sideboard local recipes book from Wilmington, and some southern food. I think that they liked the cookbook the best because they told me that they love to cook.

The Flight
Today we got on a plane and flew from Wilmington to Charlotte and then from Charlotte to Frankfurt. The trip was not bad only the first flight was kinda small and they took the fig preseves that I brought for the family. I got to see a little of Germany and the more german side of france.
The family that I am staying with is great, and I am really enjoying learning a new culture.

"Previous to the Flight" March 27, 2009

I am going to France today! I'm so excited, and a little nervous. All i can think about is the flight and meeting the family that i will be staying with for the next two weeks! I hope i remembered everything while i was packing.
Wow i mean this is going to be so amazing, i get to see Paris and Germany and learn a diffrent language. I get to go to the Luave and see the Mona Lisa. I also get to see the Notre Dame Cathedrul and hopefully get to meet the president of the US Barrack Obama and the president of France Nicholas Sorcozie (which I probally spelled wrong) . I so ecxited and i can't wait.
Okay i have to go finish packing!
